VISIONTRACK WINS COMMERCIAL INSURANCE AWARDS’ ‘TECHNOLOGY OF THE YEAR’ FOR SECOND TIME

Leading in-vehicle video telematics provider VisionTrack was recognised with its eleventh accolade last Thursday (7th March), lifting the ‘Technology of the Year’ trophy for the second year running at the Commercial Insurance Awards 2019.
Held at The Waldorf Hilton in London, the awards showcase excellence within commercial insurance and reward companies that provide innovative solutions to industry challenges and issues.
VisionTrack developed its technology in 2018 to become even more flexible, help prevent incidents, further cut insurance premiums for fleets and speed up the FNOL process. It launched a white-label solution for customers already using a telematics provider who want to add video. It introduced cameras with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features which can identify lane departure, forward collisions, tailgating and vulnerable pedestrians or cyclists, while the in-vehicle monitor can recognise if a driver is tired or distracted by actions such as mobile phone use, smoking and eating. As a result, a driver can immediately be alerted to any potential dangers via visual and/or audible warnings. At the same time, an office-based fleet manager can monitor areas of concern both in real-time and historically, so they are able to take appropriate actions to improve road safety and driver welfare.
Simon Marsh, VisionTrack’s Managing Director, commented: “We’re delighted to have won this award for the second year running. We know our innovative technology sets us apart from the competition, but it’s fantastic to have this formally recognised again by the industry. It’s a fitting tribute to our team who work so hard.
“We’ve been phenomenally successful in reducing premiums and incidents, detecting fraudulent and exaggerated claims and cutting disputed claims rates, and we’re excited about continuing to drive this technology forward”.
