The VisionTrack team have not one but two reasons to celebrate, scooping two trophies, adding to their burgeoning trophy cabinet! VisionTrack won the Telematics ‘Techies’ Award from BusinessCar Magazine on 30th October and the award for Best Telematics-Based Project of the Year (Connected Award) at Insurance Post’s Digital & Insurtech Awards 2018, on Friday.
VisionTrack’s entries focused on the way its unique self-designed Internet of Things platform has tackled insurance fraud, helping to defend fleets against exaggerated or false claims, crash for cash claims and ghost passengers through combining telematics and high quality video. Its platform, Autonomise, has evolved to be able to connect to any third party platform allowing the business to partner with businesses like TomTom. Its footage shows if an incident occurred and who was at fault, which with standard telematics cannot be determined
The technology has seen impressive results, with one insurer achieving a 24% reduction in claims frequency and 18% decrease in claims cost. It has managed to reduce disputed claims rates to 0% in some cases and its proactive driver behaviour alerts and cameras with ground-breaking Advanced Driver Assistance System features are preventing incidents from happening in the first place.
